Those rapturous moments of beauty that are scattered throughout nature and life have always been a source of awe and inspiration for me, as well as a means of escape from the cruelties and banalities of this world, and a healing balm in my darkest struggles with depression and anxiety.
I've found that the best way to capture and savour these moments is by giving them artistic expression - to share something of the magic that I feel in these apparitions of eternity (as I like to call them).
Art and creativity is in my blood, although the only formal training I have received was in primary and high school art classes. My life's path took a detour through graphic design and marketing, having completed a diploma in Multimedia Design in 2002, and working in various iterations of that industry for the past 20 years. This has taught me some valuable skills, but my heart has drawn me back to my true passion: the fine arts. I feel it, not just as a strong desire, but as an exigency of my soul. I must have this freedom to create and express the things that make life worth living, even in the most general sense: that is, in the things that are there for anyone to appreciate if they would only really look (as if seeing for the first time).
